Paediatric first aid

At least one person who has a full current Paediatric First Aid (2 day course) certificate must be on the premises and available at all times when children are present, including when children are taken on outings.

In order to meet Ofsted and EYFS regulations, we always advise that if you are going to be looking after infants and children in any capacity, you should undertake a full paediatric first aid course. From an employer point of view, it is much better to have your staff over qualified from a first aid perspective than to rely on 2 or 3 staff having the full qualification and then have them go sick or resign, leaving your organisation vulnerable in an emergency situation.

The above tables are to be used as a guide only. We would always recommend that ALL staff members have a 1 day emergency first aid at work qualification. We will come to your workplace and hold group sessions with your team, saving you time and money. Your employees can learn in a familiar environment with people they work with every day, and you will save on expense costs for travel and lunch to/from an external training venue. 1 day courses start from £83pp, which is a saving of over £100pp* compared to sending them individually on an external course.

*Research conducted by us across a number of locations in the UK shows the cost of an external 1 day EFAW course to be £150-200pp with a number of training providers.
